Wow! This took forever to do.

Inkscape: sketching, tweaking, and inking.

The best part was learning how to tweak my sketches via vector drawing on Inkscape. By grouping body parts during the sketch phase, I was able to duplicate arms and legs (less drawing time x faster x consistency) and then I can tweak them by clicking and moving the rotation axis and I can position the figures like posing puppets.

I sketched them in separate layers, so I can position them so their feet don't step on each other.

The other thing was I learned how to skew lettering, which I did on the "POLICE" lettering on the tardis. When you click on an object and click again to get to the rotation mode, the side arrows on the selection lets you skew the text to fit it into the perspective.

I also was able to duplicate the panels of the tardis and tweak them as well.

Gimp: coloring.

Once I added the colors via Gimp it all seemed to come together.

I used the flat method where you make separate layers for each element: Tardis, sky, ground, figure 1, 2, 3. Then I colored the outlines with a hard brush, then filled the middle, and selected the "preserve transparancy" box on top of the layers box. That way I didn't have to worry about coloring outside the lines with unnecessary selecting.

Overall time: roughly 12 hours.

Thanks. There are little things that stick out but overall I was able to get to the "finished" line. Despite my Liefeldian quirks.
